Brighton College
Brighton College commissioned Wild Dog Design to design and produce their latest fundraising direct mail collateral to build The Jubilee Pavilion. The aim of the college is to build a beautiful, state-of-the-art sports and activities based pavilion; coupled with developing the grounds to offer first class sporting facilities. The Jubilee Pavilion will not only be an integral part of college life, but benefit the wider community as well where it will host matches and tournaments for local teams and clubs.
In the absence of any photography, our design approach was to maximise the use of incredible cgi imagery created by the architects and show a living, breathing and vibrant Jubilee Pavilion sitting at the heart of college and community life. Whilst respecting the corporate guidelines, we were offered a free-reign to create a clean and elegant typographical style that allowed the copy to simply state the case and value of the recipient contributing.
Clearly the main target audience are college alumni, and it was important to foster a sense of their contributing to an on-going historical and cultural memory of their own sporting days. Brighton College has an enviable record of turning out world-class male and female athletes, and opening proposition was written by old-Brightonian, Clare Conner OBE who was a former england cricket captain.
In terms of print finish, we adopted a clean square format, and using FSC deliberately kept the production values to a simple, under-stated level. The fundraising brochure has been well-received by the college and looks set to prove a great success.
